Cleaning Rota

Church Care and Cleaning Teams

Many thanks for all the work you have done in caring for our buildings in the last 6 months and for being willing to continue to take on this role. Welcome to all the new volunteers. Sharing the task together hopefully will mean that no one has to do more than they can and yet the buildings will look loved and well tended.
The job descriptions are simply for guidance, but please review them to make sure that you are covering the work that you have volunteered for. Please simply use your own judgement, when it comes to deciding how you carry out your particular task. We don't want to create work by doing jobs when they are not needed, but we do want the rooms to reflect our love for them.
Please be flexible about when you carry out your task, within your period on the rota. The idea is to fit in with your availability, but do check the list of times when the rooms are in use, which will be displayed in the Community Room and Hall and Jan will email you the bookings to me or you if you let her have your email address. If you do forget to clean when it is your turn, please try to clean as soon as you can and if you know you will be unavailable one week, either swap with someone or let us know, so the rooms are cleaned.
The accompanying paperwork tries to give you all the information you need to get going. If anything is not clear, do get in touch. It is intended to provide all the tools and materials necessary for the job. If you find anything missing or would find other materials helpful, please do the best you can without and then let us know. At the moment there is no vacuum cleaner up stairs but I am hoping to get one for this week.

Frequency: Community Rooms to be cleaned once a week, so each team is on duty once every 5 weeks.
Community Room Rota Job Descriptions:
a) Dusting: Dust surfaces in CR every time and surfaces on stairs. Landing and upper rooms every other time. Damp dusting as needed.
b) Floors: Vacuum or sweep CR floor each time.
Vacuum entrance and stairwell carpet each time.
Sweep stairs and vacuum landing and upper rooms every other time.
c) Kitchen: Clean sink and surfaces. Clean outside and inside of fridge. Wet mop floor. Clear fridge of old milk and food. Empty wastebin and replace sacks.
d) Toilet: Damp dust surfaces. Clean toilet and sinks. Empty wastebin and replace sacks. Wet mop floor. Replace toilet rolls and soap as needed.

As the buildings are used so frequently, there is now a cleaner who comes in and cleans the toilet and kitchen on a Thursday morning.
If it is your job to clean the toilet or kitchen, please assess whether it needs to be cleaned again.
Please check the bins and that there are spare toilet rolls in the toilet. If you don’t need to clean the kitchen or toilet please feel free to hoover in the Church or spend your time doing any other cleaning or tidying that you can see needs doing. Thanks.

Church premises.

As the buildings are used so frequently, there is now a cleaner who comes in and cleans the toilet and kitchen on a Thursday morning.
If it is your job to clean the toilet or kitchen, please assess whether it needs to be cleaned again.
Please check the bins and that there are spare toilet rolls in the toilet. If you don’t need to clean the kitchen or toilet please feel free to hoover in the Church or spend your time doing any other cleaning or tidying that you can see needs doing. Thanks.
